Cycling along the Starry Path
It’s certainly still a little-known fact that the officially marked St. James pilgrimage routes—as part of the European model project “Starry Path”/
The medieval cultural monuments along the routes offer a special charm, turning a bike ride to these destinations into a journey of discovery. These stone relics from the era of medieval pilgrims can be discovered both right along the official routes and up to about 12 km off the beaten path in the surrounding area. Cyclists can thus plan their own tours (one-day or multi-day trips) that combine many of these medieval gems into a loop. These cycling pilgrimage tours can be planned as desired using the interactive map . Away from the marked St. James pilgrimage routes, existing bike paths leading to medieval cultural monuments can be displayed.
Cycling along the Starry Path inspires you to explore paths and discover new trails; when you take detours, you’re usually rewarded with unexpected encounters.
