Community Hike with Dr. Carolin Lehberger

As part of a community hike from the Wintringer farm and its late-Gothic Wintringer Chapel, “Cultural site Wintringer Chapel,” to Auersmacher, Regional Association Director Dr. Lehberger, along with many guests, unveiled the new information sign for the medieval structure on Sunday, April 26.

As patron of the Starry Path/pilot project Chemin des étoiles, Dr. Carolin Lehberger expressed her gratitude to the countless people and project partners who have participated in the pilot project to date, thereby sending a strong message about promoting European values through the forgotten pilgrimage routes in this greater region. The late-Gothic Wintringer Chapel is a wonderful example of the impact this pilot project has had in fostering a new awareness of the importance of conveying these values at a crossroads of Europe. Countless people visit this special medieval Cultural site and, through the vision of the Starry Path, are inspired by the spirit of pilgrimage for peace and the preservation of creation.

In this context, Project Manager Peter Michael Lupp presented the “Wintringer Chapel” as a key cultural site within the Saarbrücken Regional Association and the Bliesgau UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Starting from the Wintringer farm, a truly extraordinary cross-border route along the Starry Path unfolds, ultimately ending at the Gothic cathedral in Metz.
